NOTE - we no longer supply leads with clips as no matter the brand/quality a clip is the weakest point. A clip also ads unnecessary interference between you and your horse. HEADCHECK
Plaited double braid 6 mm marine rope headcheck. Full, cob, pony or custom size.
The headcheck is a training tool designed to draw the horses head down via attachment to your central breastplate ring/dee and also providing pressure by rope under the chin to stop the horse evading the bit and/or bit slipping through side of mouth in a turn. It is only as harsh as your hands, unlike a lot of headchecks it is not tied solid at a fixed length which allows it to be used at any gait and in training for any discipline you choose.
The attachment to breast plate is adjusted by simple knotting/unknotting to reduce/extend the length.
Can be worn as reins only by clipping the breastplate attachment up onto the side of the bridle headpeice when not in use.
A basic drawing of how it works done at obviously extended angles to better show the item components and photo of the actual item fitted (not a very good photo but gives general idea, there are improvements to be found in all later makes, this is hubbys own new one made some time ago by me).
Stretch has used these for years now in training horses that have needed that little bit extra direction - we dont make and sell what we would not use ourselves.

COLOUR CHOICE
Colour will be either white with red/black flecks or white with blue/black flecks depending on what I have in stock. Where possible if you have a preference I will try to work with that preference.
Why dont we offer more colour choices? Coloured rope is dearer, yet it does the same job............. We have therefore chosen to only supply as work, training tools, if you want a showpeice halter/lead or reins there are many shops that sell these items - at a much higher price.
