Breaking/Handling at our place not currently available as we are pretty busy, if you are interested in your horse coming to us please book in advance to ensure we have a space for it!
BASIC BREAKING SERVICES
Stretch is now available to take select horses for BASIC BREAKING on a one at a time basis, breaking in includes teaching the horse to face up and be caught, lunge in roundyard on/off lead and in open on lead, be brushed, hooves picked up and trimmed, lead, load on truck, backup, respond to pressure from ground and leg aids (front end over/around, back end over/around), accept bridle and bit, installing steering and brakes, accept saddle and rider. To be ridden in all gaits. Ride in company and alone. At the end of our breaking you will be required to come ride you horse with us before you take it home. Breaking may take 2 - 4 weeks depending on our time and the horse (as every horse is different and may take longer to reach our standard of breaking).
Your horse will be ridden in a halter and lead before a bridle and depending on the horse with our time permiting may be ridden bareback.
Your horse will be exposed to kids, traffic/roadriding and other animals in a controlled environment, and nasty scary things such as plastic bags, tarps (draped over horse, lunged over), noisy bottles, lunge around/between 44's.
Price is PER BREAKING!!! So you dont lose out, there is no conning into saying the horse needs more work - as we dont get more for it!
Price $550. Complimentary (and mandatory) worming on arrival and hoof trimming on departure. Feed costs are extra (can supply your own). Half price + feed payable up front and remainder before horse leaves our possession. Cheques accepted but are subject to clearance.
We can even offer transport for your horse to and from our location at reasonable prices with our 4 horse truck which can side load from cattle ramp or back door lowers to make ramp so your horse can be loaded without the need for other facilities.
A note on BASIC BREAKING - what you might ask is this "basic" business? Well here we beleive that first and foremost your horse should be able to be ridden simply and safely BEFORE any specialized training is attempted, for many people (pony club, trail rides, mustering) this is all the training a horse needs so why pay more for something you dont need? In some cases a horse sent to a u-beaut trainer will come back too well trained for the person intending to ride it - sounds odd? It does happen! You are not getting half a job you are getting a decent foundation for your horse - think about it, a child usually learns to crawl before they walk, thats nature, it sets them up to survive not fail - why muck with that?
Sorry due to height of breaker we will not be accepting any breakers under 12 hh but colts/stallions more than welcome.
We haven't the best facilities (inspection is welcome) but have a great reputation for our breaking/horse handling/selling and transport services. References can be supplied.

FIRST RIDES/TEST RIDES
Have you done all the ground work but too nervous to hop on the first time? Have you bought a horse from the sales thats supposed to be broken in but dont want to be the one to test it?
Stretch is available for first rides/test rides.
1. At your place - $150 PLUS TRAVEL COSTS.
2. At our place - $100.
For Stretchs safety a preliminary safety check (brakes, flex, reaction to saddle, lunge) will be performed before horse will be ridden, on occasions horse will not be ridden and further work recomended (ie horse from sales and reacts as if unbroken, first ride horse with no mouth), full fee is still payable in this instance.

WEEKLY FEED COSTS
We use and reccomend Prydes Easi Prep Concentrate, Speedibeet and Lucerne hay/chaff for all our customers horses with quality Rhodes Grass roundbales available at all times (unless customer prefers otherwise).
